NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Texas A&M safety Marcus Ratcliffe was named a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced Monday.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football student-athletes and head coaches who make an impact through community service, academic achievement and leadership.
Ratcliffe turned in one of the conference's top seasons at safety in 2025, finishing with 65 tackles, including 32 solo stops, while adding three pass breakups. He ranked seventh among SEC safeties in tackles and recorded a season-high eight stops against both Notre Dame and Mississippi State. Ratcliffe made at least five tackles in eight games and earned an 80.3 defensive grade from Pro Football Focus, the sixth-highest mark among SEC safeties.
Away from the field, Ratcliffe serves as an ambassador for Mission 3:12, a charitable initiative he founded to support World War II veterans. Through the program, he pledges $312 for every turnover recovered by the Texas A&M defense to help sponsor veterans on trips to Normandy for the annual D-Day anniversary.
Ratcliffe's dedication to serving others reaches beyond Mission 3:12. He volunteers throughout the Brazos Valley community with the AlphaBEST after-school program at Bonham Elementary School, Habitat for Humanity and Next Level Youth Flag Football, while also giving back through his home church, Rock Church in San Diego, Calif., where he has participated in multiple community outreach initiatives.
Ratcliffe was also voted a team captain entering the 2026 season.
The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be announced in September and will include 22 student-athletes and one honorary head coach. One student-athlete also will be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
A selection panel comprised of former Good Works Team members, college football coaches, journalists and other leaders connected to the award reviews nominations from across the country. Candidates are evaluated on the breadth and depth of their community service, demonstrated leadership, academic achievement and the measurable impact they have made on the people and causes they serve.
