Frusina Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors

GILBERT, Ariz. – Texas A&M’s Alex Frusina was honored for his academic excellence by earning an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award, the organization announced. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year. 

Frusina, from Conroe, Texas, carries a 3.8 GPA while pursuing his degree in Journalism with a minor in Sport Management. In his first season with the Maroon & White, Frusina posted 21 singles victories while representing Texas A&M at the NCAA Singles Championships and tied for the team lead with 19 doubles wins. He records eight combined singles and doubles wins over ranked opponents in 2025-26.
