Ring, Stowers Named to AVCA Player of the Year Watch List

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Texas A&M volleyball’s Natalie Ring and Kyndal Stowers were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Friday.

The outside hitter duo of Ring and Stowers become the second pair of Aggies to land on the Player of the Year Watch List after All-American’s Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla were named to the list last season. The pair are two of 30 athletes receiving recognition and A&M is one of 10 schools to have two or more players selected.

Stowers helped lead the Maroon & White to their first national title last season, after downing three-straight No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament which was capped off with a sweep of Kentucky in the final. Stowers registered 385 kills on the year, averaging 3.50 per set. Her output increased when her team needed it most, as she accounted for 102 points throughout the tournament run, earned through 92 kills, six blocks and four aces. Her performances earned her the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player award, and she was tabbed as a Second Team All-American and named to the All-SEC First Team.

Ring made the move to Aggieland this spring following a three-year playing career at Marquette, where she was a standout for the Golden Eagles. The Madison, Wisconsin, native’s 2025 season was one for the record books as she racked up 497 kills which ranked ninth all-time for Marquette in a single season and seventh during the rally-scoring era. She spearheaded the Golden Eagles’ run to the NCAA Tournament and registered 16 kills in their three-set win over Western Kentucky and a career-high 29 in a narrow five-set loss to Louisville. Her efforts throughout her junior campaign garnered Third Team All-America and All-North Region First Team accolades.
