LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Texas A&M rookie forward Ireland Churchill was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Preseason Freshman Best XI.
Churchill arrives in Aggieland with a prolific club and high school resume. She was selected to travel to Spain with the KC Current Development Team for intensive training camps in Barcelona and Madrid. During the international stint, the dynamic attacker displayed her talent against top-tier European academy competition.
The Eastvale, California, native shined at Slammers FC, leading her team to a semifinal finish at the ECNL national championship and securing consecutive ECNL girls overall club championships in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Her standout performances garnered ECNL Southwest All-Conference First Team honors, an ECNL All-America team selection, and the ECNL Girls Southwest Conference U17 Player of the Year award.
She played four seasons at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, firmly establishing herself as one of the most dominant players in program history. She concluded her high school tenure as the school's all-time career leader in both goals and assists. Her elite playmaker ability earned her the title of CIF-SS Division 1 Player of the Year for the 2023–2024 season, alongside being named a three-time team MVP and serving as team captain for four consecutive years.
The Maroon & White open their regular season on Wednesday, Aug. 12th when they travel to Houston for a 6 p.m. match against Rice. The Aggies make their 2026 Ellis Field debut on Saturday, Aug. 22nd with an 8 p.m. match against Sam Houston.
