The coordinators take the mic: It was Holmon Wiggins and Lyle Hemphill’s turn in front of the cameras Tuesday as fall camp rolled into Day 6. The new OC and DC talked through where the roster stands, with Wiggins praising a deep receiver room and the push to get the best 11 on the field. Full press conference video from both is up now. Soccer kicks off the season tonight at Rice: The Aggies open the 2026-27 campaign at 6 p.m. in Houston (ESPN+), and it’s Bobby Shuttleworth’s debut as just the second head coach in program history. A&M owns a 7-1 all-time edge on the Owls, including a 4-0 win the last time the teams met in Houston in 2023. Returning scorers Trinity Buchanan and Leah Diaz anchor a group that added Hermann Trophy watch-list pick Bella Carapazza. Link |

A new trophy for the SEC’s best in women’s sports: The league unveiled the hardware for its new Allstate SEC Women’s Champions Cup, a season-long, all-sports race to crown the SEC’s top women’s athletics program. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: SEC Schedule Revealed The SEC released the women’s basketball 16-game conference slate Tuesday. A&M opens league play New Year’s Eve at home against Tennessee and closes the regular season Feb. 28 at Alabama. Reed Arena also draws Texas (Jan. 21), Oklahoma (Jan. 31) and Kentucky (Feb. 25), with tip times and TV still to come. Link |

SOCCER: A Fresh Look for the Opener With the season kicking off tonight, the new kits get their first competitive run. Soccer unveiled its 2026 uniforms back in July, the threads Shuttleworth’s group will wear when the lights come on at Rice. Link |

FOOTBALL: Aggies Stack Up Preseason Honors Defensive tackle DJ Hicks and edge rusher Anto Saka landed on the Lombardi Award watch list Tuesday, which recognizes the nation’s top linemen. Safety Marcus Ratcliffe made the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy list, college football’s honor for community service. His Mission 3:12 gives $312 to a charity that returns World War II veterans to Normandy for every turnover the Aggie defense forces. Link |
