COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M cross country team released its 2026 schedule, featuring seven meets, including four at the Watts Cross Country Course and the NCAA South Central Regional in College Station.
It marks the sixth time the Watts Cross Country Course will host the NCAA South Central Regional, including the second time in the last three seasons. Texas A&M hosts four meets at home, marking the most since the 2024 season when the Aggies hosted the SEC Championships and NCAA South Central Regional.
The Aggie Opener kicks off the season for the Maroon & White on Sept. 4 with a twilight meet, followed by the Texas A&M Invitational on Sept. 11. Ol' Sarge's charges hit the road Sept. 26 for the Princeton Meadows Challenge before returning home to host the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Oct. 16.
The SEC Cross Country Championships are set for Oct. 30 at Gans Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri, while the NCAA South Central Regional returns to the Watts Cross Country Course on Nov. 13. The season concludes Nov. 21 at the NCAA Cross Country Championships at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The Texas A&M women's team looks to defend its NCAA South Central Regional title for the first time in program history. The Aggies return three All-Region runners in Debora Cherono, Sophia Bendet and Megan Roberts. Jack Johnston highlights the men's returners after earning All-SEC and All-Region honors last season.
Wendel McRaven enters his 16th season leading the cross country program. He has been named the USTFCCCA South Central Region Women's Coach of the Year twice in the past three seasons.
