WACO, Texas – The No. 8 Texas A&M volleyball team closes its preseason slate with a road exhibition at No. 21 Baylor Sunday at the Ferrell Center with first serve set for 6 p.m.
Head coach Jamie Morrison and his new-look Aggies prepare for the final tune up before the start of the 2026 campaign. Admission to the match versus the Bears is free and doors open at 5 p.m.
The Maroon & White are coming off the programs first national championship, where they had a historic run to the title after downing three-straight No. 1 seeds in Nebraska, Pitt and finally Kentucky. The team concluded the year with a 29-4 record which was the most wins in a single season since 1984, while boasting a 14-1 ledger in league play to place second.
The Aggies return eight members of the national championships team from last season, including NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and All-American, Kyndal Stowers. The outside hitter recorded 385 kills last season and has been tabbed early as a player to watch for the new season, as she was named to both the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List and Preseason All-SEC Team.
A&M welcomed eight new additions to the roster for the season, consisting of four productive transfers and four talented freshmen. Natalie Ring headlines the transfer group, as the All-American joins from Marquette, the remaining three in the groups includes Eliza Sharp (Boise State), Kaia Castle (Ohio State) and Lily Nicholson). The highly touted freshman class includes the 2025 United States’ U21 World Championship libero, Gabi Rodriguez. The remaining rookies include Jenna Thedford, Brooke Lacewell and Lolufe Adedeji.
Baylor concluded last season with an 18-10 record and finished 12-6 in Big 12 play. The Bears reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament before a four-set loss (3-1) to Purdue ended their campaign.
