Aggies No. 8 in Preseason AP Poll

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M football team found itself ranked No. 8 in The Associated Press Preseason Top 25 poll.

Earlier this month, the Aggies also debuted at No. 8 in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.

This is the third time since 2021 that Texas A&M has entered a season ranked inside the top 10 and the ninth straight season that the Aggies have been ranked in the preseason AP Top 25.

The Aggies will battle six teams who ranked inside the preseason AP Top 25 poll in No. 5 Texas, No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 11 LSU, No. 13 Alabama, No. 20 Tennessee and No. 25 Missouri. Four of those six contests will be on the road.

Head coach Mike Elko enters his third season in Aggieland after leading Texas A&M to an 11-2 record and a College Football Playoff berth in 2025. Through his first two seasons, he has guided the Aggies to 19 victories, the second-most by a head coach in his first two seasons in program history.
