COLLEGE STATION – The No. 8 Aggie volleyball team swept Arkansas State on the program’s 2025 banner drop celebration game Friday evening at Reed Arena, 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-18).
Texas A&M delivered a dominant sweep over the Red Wolves on its 2025 national championship banner drop night. 6,278 members of the 12th Man were in attendance to celebrate the NCAA title which ranks as the fourth-largest crowd in program history.
Carrying the momentum into their second game of the day, a balanced spell of offense and defense secured the Maroon & White’s second win of the season. Natalie Ring paced the attack, with her fourth-straight double-digit kill outing logging 13 on the day. On defense, Eliza Sharp continued to be a force at the net, stuffing a season-best 10 swings, while Gabi Rodriguez made it back-to-back games with over 10 digs recording 12 on the night.
The Maroon & White took an early lead for the second-straight game behind the serve of Gabi Rodriguez who forged separation on a 6-1 run which included an ace and marked her fourth-straight game scoring from the line. Natalie Ring held the momentum and kickstarted her night offensively with five kills in the frame hitting .455 percent, with her final of the set marking point 23. A&M closed the opener with a kill and a block to take the set, 25-15.
A&M continued its charge in the second led by Eliza Sharp who surpassed five blocks for the third time this season. The Aggies commanded the Red Wolves throughout the second, never letting them get close and claiming the set, 25-16.
Ring continued to be a dominant threat logging her 800th career kill with her second of the frame and 10th of the night, also marking four-consecutive games in double digits. Arkansas State kept the set close, 21-16, but a late barrage sealed the sweep, 25-18.
