STAMFORD, Conn. – Texas A&M’s Vanessa Borovilos and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio earned preseason All-America status, and the team was ranked No. 4 on Golf Channel’s Preseason Top 30, the outlet announced Monday.
Fernández García-Poggio and Borovilos were recently named to the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List. Borovilos garnered Golf Channel Preseason First Team All-America Honors, while Fernández García-Poggio landed on the second team.
Borovilos is ranked No. 18 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and was a 2026 WGCA First Team All-American. The junior from Canada posted a 71.06 stroke average, which was the second best in program history, and had two individual wins last season.
Fernández García-Poggio finds her way onto the preseason watch list for the third time in her career. She has a WAGR ranking of No. 29 and is a two-time All-American. The Spaniard has a 7-2-1 overall collegiate match play record, including a 5-0 record at the SEC Championship.
Texas A&M begins the season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate Sept. 7-9 in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Aggies won the event last year and look to defend the title to usher in the 2026-27 campaign.
