Freibaum Named to Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List

By Kelly Shipp

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M football’s Shea Freibaum has been named to the Patrick Mannelly Award watch list, the organization announced Monday. The award is presented annually to the nation’s best FBS long snapper.

Freibaum, a redshirt junior from Scottsdale, Ariz., is in his first season at Texas A&M after transferring from Oklahoma State. He was a three-year letterwinner with Oklahoma State, appearing in 30 career games and 219 snaps. He handled the long snapping duties for field goals, PATs and punts. He assisted his kickers in making 46 field goals and 83 PATs, while helping his punters amass 6,363 yards on 147 punts, 49 of which were downed inside the 20-yard line.

The Patrick Mannelly Award is in its eighth year and is named after former NFL long snapper Patrick Mannelly. The Award, created in 2019, benefits Bernie’s Book Bank, a non-profit organization located in Lake Bluff, Illinois.

Ten semi-finalists will be announced on Monday, November 16, 2026. Those names will be narrowed to three finalists, announced on Monday, November 30, 2026, and the winner will be selected at a live ceremony in Lake Bluff on Saturday, December 12, 2026.
