EUGENE - Incoming Aggie Joshua Shelton earned gold as a member of the United States mixed 4x400m relay team Wednesday night at Hayward Field at the World Athletics U20 Championships.
Shelton ran a 46.22 lead-off split to put the United States in the driver's seat before the rest of the quartet finished in 3:15.31, setting a U20 world record in the mixed 4x400m relay. The team shaved more than two seconds off the previous record of 3:17.69, which another United States team set at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in California.
