Texas A&M Graduates 18 Student-Athletes at Summer Commencement

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M Athletics is set to graduate 18 student-athletes at summer commencement ceremonies inside Reed Arena Saturday, Aug. 8.

For more information on Saturday commencement ceremonies, visit aggieonestop.tamu.edu. Bachelor’s degree commencement begins at 9 a.m. while master’s and doctoral hooding ceremonies start at 2 p.m.

“Congratulations to all of our summer graduates,” Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said. “It is amazing to see our student-athletes walk the stage and complete an incredible milestone. It is also very special to see Aggies come back and complete or further their education. That is a testament to the culture of excellence we have here at Texas A&M where we prioritize academics and the pursuit of greatness on the field and in the classroom."

Among the 18 graduates, Mac Barbara, Ryan Targac, Jordan Webster and Aaron Wallace are receiving master’s degrees. Additionally, Tyrel Dodson, Kelly Martinez, Julian Reid, Koko Wooley, Barbara, Targac and Wallace are all returning to Aggieland to complete their education after at least one year removed from their final season of eligibility.

Of the All-Americans, national champions, conference champions and Aggie legends earning their degrees this weekend, Wallace (1986-89) walks the stage to collect his master’s degree in sport management. Wallace was a 2010 inductee into the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame after a football career that produced multiple conference titles, and he still owns the all-time sack record at 42.0.

“Congratulations to all of our 2026 summer graduates! I commend our student-athletes for their dedication, discipline and commitment to excellence in the classroom, culminating in the achievement of earning their degrees,” Executive Associate Athletics Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Engagement Dr. Dan Childs said. “The journey to degree completion is never easy, and this accomplishment reflects their perseverance, resilience and hard work. We are incredibly proud of our summer graduates and wish them continued success and fulfillment in all of their future endeavors."
