Anyway, back to it… Aggie volleyball takes on Purdue tonight in the first of a two-game swing through the Hoosier state. It’s Tuesday, September 1 — here’s what you need to know to start your day.

The Big 3

  1. Students pull a record number of tickets: More than 41,000 tickets were pulled by Texas A&M students for Saturday’s opener, the highest student ticket pull on record! Kyle Field is going to be loud.
  2. Elko at the podium: As the opener closes in, Mike Elko put it plainly Monday: “Finally we get to stop talking, we get to stop talking about what things can be, we get to run out of the tunnel and get to go play someone else.” Watch

The Rundown

VOLLEYBALL: No. 12 Aggies Head to Indiana for Challenge Week
A&M hits Mackey Arena for a pair in the inaugural Big Ten/SEC Challenge, facing No. 14 Purdue tonight (7 p.m., FS1) and No. 21 Indiana on Wednesday (4 p.m., Big Ten Network). The Aggies (3-2) come in off a 3-0 sweep of their own invitational to open the year. Link

Everything you need for Saturday, in one place. The official game notes for the Missouri State opener lay out the storylines, series history, and numbers to know as the No. 8 Aggies kick off 2026 at Kyle Field (6 p.m., ESPN). Cram before kickoff. Link

MEN'S BASKETBALL: The Battle 4 Atlantis Field Is Set
Bucky McMillan’s Aggies have their Thanksgiving assignments for the Bahamas: Xavier on Nov. 25 (1:30 p.m., ESPN2), then Marquette on Nov. 27 (4 p.m., SEC Network). A&M is coming off a fifth straight 20-win season. Link

WOMEN'S GOLF: Two Aggies Land Preseason All-America; Team Ranked No. 4
The women’s golf team is loaded heading into the fall. Vanessa Borovilos earned Golf Channel Preseason First Team All-America and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio made the second team, with the Aggies checking in at No. 4 in the Preseason Top 30. A&M opens play Sept. 7 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, where it’s the defending champ. Link

MEN'S GOLF: Aggies Open the Year at No. 18
Brian Kortan’s group checks in at No. 18 in the Golfweek Preseason Poll, one of 12 SEC teams inside the top 25. The Aggies return four of five from last year’s NCAA Championship lineup and tee off Sept. 14 at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in Frisco. Link
