COLLEGE STATION – The No. 19 Texas A&M volleyball team returns to Reed Arena Friday evening for a ranked matchup as it hosts No. 6 Wisconsin with first serve set for 7 p.m.
The Maroon & White gear up for their fourth home game of the season and will recognize first responders and members of Texas Task Force 1 for the program’s annual cause game.
Friday’s matchup marks the 11th meeting between A&M and Wisconsin, with the Badgers holding an 8-2 advantage in the all-time series. The Aggies’ last victory over Wisconsin came in 2003, when the Maroon & White swept the Badgers, 3-0, in Aggieland. Under Head Coach Jamie Morrison, A&M enter Friday’s match undefeated at home this season with a 3-0 record at Reed Arena, looking to remain unblemished on their home court.
The Aggies are coming off an upset victory at the at the Shriner Children’s Showdown at the Net ACC/SEC Challenge, as they handed No. 4 Stanford its first loss of the season with a 3-1 win. Texas A&M’s offense was firing on all cylinders, as the group hit a season-high percent of .344. on 60 kills.
Texas A&M’s efficient offense was conducted by Kirra Musgrove, as the setter dished a career-high 44 assists and added 10 digs for her first double-double. Kyndal Stowers paced the Aggie attack for the second-consecutive game logging a match high 15 kills. Three other Aggies eclipsed double-digit kills, including Eliza Sharp (13), Taryn Morris (12) and Natalie Ring (10). Gabi Rodriguez continued to impress in her debut campaign, serving a career-best four aces while tallying her 10 digs which marks her sixth-consecutive game with 10-or-more.
