Maroon Secures Victory in Annual Maroon & White Scrimmage

  • All 41 Aggies on the roster made an appearance in the scrimmage.
  • Lauren Kolbe (Flat), Ady Kallay (Horsemanship), Alida Treuting (Fences) and Kennedy Marshall (Reining) earned MOP honors.
  • The Maroon team swept the Reining discipline, outscoring the White team 6-0.

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M equestrian team hosted its annual Maroon & White scrimmage Friday afternoon at the Hildebrand Equine Complex, with the Maroon team claiming a 14-8 win over the White team.

The meet began with a 3-3 split of the Flat discipline, highlighted by Lauren Kolbe of the Maroon team, earning MOP honors for her ride of 85 on Splendid. Karsen Kadien (75) and Grace Shipman (77) added points for Maroon and Claire Mullally (80), Brooke Tegtmeyer (76) and Logan Thomas (81) charted points for White.

The Maroon & White teams scored three points apiece in Horsemanship to even the total score at 6-6 at the break. Ady Kallay of the Maroon team was named MOP for her performance of 75.5 on Ace. Liz Marmor (73.5) and Cara Christensen (72.5) logged the other two points for Maroon, while Kendall Dirksen (76), Kaylynn Heitman (73.5) and Ella Roberts (75) each tallied points for the White team.

Both teams tallied two points apiece in Fences. Alida Treuting of the Maroon team was selected as the MOP after her ride of 85 on Johnny. Grace DeFoe (82) charted the second point for Maroon, while Logan Thomas (80) and Kate Egan (82) logged points for the White team.

Maroon closed out the meet with a sweep in the Reining discipline to seal the final score at 14-8. Kennedy Marshall earned MOP honors after her performance of 70.5 on Sissy. Courtney Hammit (71), Isabelle Gonzalez (68.5), Marianna Rodriguez (69.5), Brooke Hudson (70) and Aubree Leyva (71) each contributed points for the Maroon team’s Reining sweep.

Texas A&M hits the road to Felton, Delaware for its first regular season meet of the year Sept. 24. The Aggies take on Delaware State and Minnesota Crookston in a doubleheader at Dovington Training Center.
