NASHVILLE – The Texas A&M Aggies were on the losing end of a 5-0 decision against the No. 4 Commodores in Friday’s action at Vanderbilt Soccer Complex.
The Commodores (8-0-1, 1-0-1 SEC) mounted a 2-0 halftime advantage behind goals in the 26th and 32nd minutes. In the first half, Vanderbilt owned a 9-4 edge in shots and took the lone corner kick.
Three Aggies earned their first starts of the season, including goalkeeper Adelaide Paredes, forward Ciara Jade Mitchell and midfielder Lucy Landherr.
The final numbers had the Commodores outshooting the Aggies 19-8 along with owning a 10-1 margin in corner kicks. Texas A&M (4-5-0, 0-2-0 SEC) were down one player for the last 21 minutes when Riley Crooks was booked with a red card, because a Vanderbilt player fell down, allowing the Black & Gold to tack on two late tallies.
