COLLEGE STATION – The No. 16 Texas A&M volleyball team closed its non-conference slate sweeping Rice Tuesday evening at Reed Arena, 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-19)
The Aggies extended their winning streak to three with the victory over Rice and head into conference play with a 7-5 record. The opening frame saw a battle late, but A&M executed in the red zone to seal it, 25-22. Building on their momentum, the Maroon & White dominated the second frame taking it by 13 points, 25-12. It was more of the same in the final set, with a kill from Amaré Hernandez sealing the set, 25-19, and match, 3-0.
Kyndal Stowers led A&M’s impressive offensive showing, finishing the game with 17 kills. She was joined in double digits by Megan Fitch and Taryn Morris with 11 and 10, respectively. Lolufe Adedeji had another productive outing, tacking on a career-high eight kills.
