CARY, N.C. –Kristina Paskauskas and Lexington Reed of the Texas A&M women’s tennis team won their opening round match of the ITA All-American Championships in the doubles main draw Wednesday.
No. 34 Paskauskas/Reed defeated No. 28 Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev/Audrey Spencer of Ohio State, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the round of 16.
The duo faces No. 5 Alexia Jacobs/Anna-Marie Weissheim of Washington Thursday afternoon.
In singles action, No. 49 Paskauskas lost her opening round match to No. 10 Mia Slama of North Carolina State, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. She enters the consolation bracket where she squares off against No. 98 Allegra Korpanec Davies of Florida Thursday morning.
