PRINCETON, N.J. – Texas A&M’s Jack Johnston and Debora Cherono highlighted The Princeton Meadows Challenge with a pair of top 25 finishes at the Meadow Campus Cross Country Course Saturday morning.
Johnston led the Aggies across the finish line, placing 20th with a time of 23:33.9, while Cherono paced the women from the starter’s gun to the finish tape, clocking 20:40.8 to finish 25th. In the team standings, the men placed 13th with 356 points in an NCAA-caliber field, while the women finished 12th with 297 points.
Cherono was joined by the Aggies’ other four scorers, led by Megan Roberts, who finished 44th in 20:57.8. Alexandra Fox followed in 52nd at 21:05.2, while Laney Barnes placed 90th in 21:35.4. Emma Little rounded out the Aggies’ scorers in 108th with a time of 21:47.3.
Behind Johnston, the Aggies’ other four scorers were led by Gavin Chapa in 89th with a time of 24:42.0. Aiden Gonzalez-Rodiles followed in 109th at 25:01.6, while Zack Munger finished 111th in 25:02.4 after gaining places at every split throughout the race. In his debut, Alessandro Pasquinucci rounded out the Aggies’ scorers in 126th with a time of 25:26.3, gaining 13 spots over the final 900 meters.
