COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M softball team opened its fall schedule with an 18-3 exhibition win over Murray State College on Wednesday at Davis Diamond.
The Aggies banged out 16 hits, including eight extra-base knocks, while the Maroon & White pitchers struck out 15 against just four walks in the 10-inning affair.
Returning All-American Mya Perez led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a homerun and five runs batted in. Also collecting multiple base hits were Kelsey Mathis (2-for-2) and Presley Kilgore (2-for-2).
Next Up: Texas A&M faces the Temple College Leopards at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 at Davis Diamond.
