BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M junior infielder Mya Perez was named to the Softball America Preseason All-America First Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Perez returns after leading the Aggies to their first No. 1 national ranking in program history. She set a Texas A&M single-season RBI record with 73 while batting .424 and slugging .804. As a sophomore, Perez ranked among the nation's top 20 players in both on-base percentage (.561) and RBI (73), while becoming one of just three Aggies to start all 59 games. Perez was dominant against ranked opponents hitting .400 with seven home runs and six doubles, producing a .760 slugging percentage, while adding 28 RBI, 15 runs and 20 walks. The Corona, California, native earned Softball America Second Team All-America honors following the season.
In conference play, she ranked second in on-base percentage (.541), fifth in batting average (.393) and seventh in slugging percentage (.721). Perez earned All-SEC First Team honors and during the SEC Tournament, she totaled two hits, five RBI and one home run to help Texas A&M capture its first conference title.
Perez also excelled off the field, earning Academic All-America recognition, the fourth such honor in program history and the first since 2008.
Texas A&M opens the 2026 season by hosting the Aggie Classic on Feb. 5, facing ACU at 4:30 p.m. and Utah State at 7 p.m. at Davis Diamond.
