AUGUSTA, Ga. – Texas A&M's Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio and Vanessa Borovilos were invited to participate at the 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur April 1-4 at the historic Augusta National Golf Club.
Fernández García-Poggio will be making her fourth appearance at the ANWA, having participated in each of the previous three events. Borovilos earned her first ANWA invitation. The duo is ranked No. 25 and No. 33 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking, respectively. Fernández García-Poggio and Borovilos are both preseason All-Americans and have the Aggies ranked No. 4 on the WGCA poll this season heading into the spring.
Fernández García-Poggio finished solo fourth in her ANWA debut in 2023 and tied for 20th during the 2024 installment. Last year, the Aggie missed the cut by just two strokes. Although Borovilos will be making her first appearance at the ANWA, it will be her fifth opportunity to compete at Augusta National. The Canadian won the 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship and competed in the event on three other occasions.
The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff Nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta April 1 and 2. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4 and will feature the competitors who made the cut.
Provided she remain an amateur, the Augusta National Women's Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women's Amateurs, the U.S. Women's Open, the AIG Women's Open, the Chevron Championship, the Evian Championship and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
