BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M infielder Chris Hacopian and outfielder Caden Sorrell were honored as Preseason All-Americans by D1Baseball, the publication announced Tuesday. Hacopian was named to the second team as a designated hitter, while Sorrell earned a third-team distinction as an outfielder.
The selections mark the second preseason accolade for both junior sluggers after being tabbed Preseason All-Americans by Perfect Game earlier this month. The Aggies are one of four SEC programs to have multiple players selected as All-Americans by D1Baseball.
Hacopian joins the Texas A&M lineup following a pair of productive seasons at Maryland from 2024-25, earning All-Big Ten honors twice. Over his two-year career, Hacopian has started in 107 games, slashing .347/.465/.614 with 29 home runs and 103 RBI. Last season, he led the Terrapins in hits (72), batting average (.375) and OPS (1.158) among qualified hitters. The Potomac, Maryland., native drew 40 walks against 19 strikeouts in 2025 and plated 61 RBI while adding 14 home runs and 51 runs scored.
In limited action last season, Sorrell provided a major midseason boost to the Aggie lineup, batting .337 with 32 RBI and 23 runs scored in 26 starts. Of his 32 hits in 2025, 18 went for extra bases, including 12 home runs. Sorrell finished the 2025 campaign with 11 multi-RBI games, ranking third on the squad. The Highland Village, Texas, native earned the Marion Pugh Most Valuable Player Award, as voted on by his teammates following the 2025 season. Across his two-year collegiate career, Sorrell has appeared in 85 games, posting a slash line of .296/.390/.635 with 23 home runs and 75 RBI.
The Texas A&M baseball season begins Friday, Feb. 13 at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park for a 6 PM contest with Tennessee Tech.
