
Volleyball’s Opponents Set at 2026 AVCA First Serve

LEXINGTON – The Texas A&M volleyball team will play two games at the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) First Serve event, opening the weekend versus Louisville Friday (Aug. 21) and closing it Sunday versus SMU (Aug. 23), the organization announced Monday morning.
Following their 2025 NCAA national title run, the Maroon & White open their 2026 campaign in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the AVCA First Serve where they will play a pair of familiar opponents in the Cardinals and Mustangs at the at Fiserv Forum.
"Being invited to First Serve for the second year in a row is a testament to the standard our program has reached." Head coach Jamie Morrison said. "We're excited to be part of an event that showcases our sport, highlights its teams, and continues to push the boundaries of how volleyball is presented to the world. Thank you to Jamie Gordon, the AVCA, and everyone involved for the invitation."
The Aggies have faced Louisville eight times in the program's history, boasting a 6-2 record all-time. The most recent win came in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, where the Maroon & White came back from two sets down to advance to the Elite 8 (3-2). Texas A&M and SMU have only faced one another twice and the Mustangs have claimed both of those meetings.
Tickets for AVCA First Serve, which will go on sale Friday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. and can be purchased through Fiserv Forum's website.
