
Pair of Aggies Named Perfect Game Preseason All-Americans

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Junior infielder Chris Hacopian and junior outfielder Caden Sorrell were tabbed as Preseason All-Americans by Perfect Game Wednesday. Both players earned second team distinctions, with Hacopian being recognized as an infielder and Sorrell honored as a designated hitter.
Hacopian, the preseason No. 16 MLB Pipeline draft prospect will be a key contributor to the Aggies' potent lineup, boasting a career batting average of .347 and OPS of 1.080. In the 2025 season with Maryland, Hacopian logged an impressive .375/.502/.656 slash line to go along with 14 home runs and 61 RBI. The Potomac, Md., native also walked 40 times to 19 strikeouts in 249 plate appearances last season. At the completion of the 2025 campaign, Hacopian was named to the ABCA All-East Region First Team and the All-Big Ten Second Team.
Sorrell, MLB Pipeline's preseason No. 20 draft prospect, is set to make a full return to the Texas A&M lineup after missing the first 30 games of 2025 with an injury. In 26 starts last season, Sorrell slashed .337/.430/.789 with a 1.219 OPS. The Highland Village, Texas, native smashed 12 home runs with 32 RBI in 114 plate appearances in 2025. He was voted by his teammates as the Marion Pugh Most Valuable Player at the 2025 team banquet for his outstanding performance last season.
The Texas A&M baseball team opens the season at Blue Bell Park on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. against Tennessee Tech.
