AUSTIN – The No. 17 Texas A&M volleyball team prepares for its third-straight ranked matchup, as it travels to the Forty Acres for the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown versus the No. 14 Longhorns Sunday afternoon with first serve set for 12 p.m.

The upset Aggies struck again last time out, as they downed No. 6 Tennessee in front of 6,213 members of the 12th Man at Reed Arena. The win marked the first time in program history the Maroon & White have won back-to-back games versus top-10 opponents in the regular season.

Kyndal Stowers tacked on some history of her own, logging her sixth-consecutive double-double after recording 19 kills and 15 digs. Her run has matched that of Hollann Hans during the 2018 season.

Margot Manning continued to impress in her second start, as the senior setter dished a career-high 48 assists. The Houston, Texas, native also tacked on career-highs in both points with five and blocks with four.

The Maroon & White lived up to the Monster Block Party Friday night, as the group stuffed a season-high 16 swings spearheaded by Kaia Castle’s season-high 12 which is fourth most in a four-set game in school history. Stowers added on career-high seven blocks, while Eliza Sharp, Taryn Morris and Manning each had four.

The Aggies and Longhorns have a rich history, as Sunday will be the 105th meeting between the programs. Texas holds a strong advantage in the series, 79-25, however that gap shrinks to one since the arrival of Head Coach Jamie Morrison with the Longhorns up, 3-2. The programs split wins last season, with A&M taking the Lone Star Showdown point in a 3-2 win at home, while Texas won the meeting in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament, 3-1.
