COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M All-American slugger Mya Perez’s grand slam rallied the Aggies past the Texas State Bobcats for a 5-3 fall exhibition victory on Friday at Davis Diamond.
The Bobcats jumped to an early 3-0 lead with a pair of home runs, but the Aggies’ offense came alive in the third inning with a trio of free passes and two hits. Sophomore Maddie Sauni brought the first run home with a sacrifice fly before Perez’s big fly cleared the bases for a lead the Aggies would not relinquish.
After the three-run outburst in the first inning, three Aggie pitchers delivered six shutout innings and just a single hit while striking out six Bobcats.
Next Up: The Aggies close out the fall schedule with pair of games next week – vs. Grayson College on Wednesday, Nov. 4 (5:30 p.m.) and against Texas on Friday, Nov. 6 (7 p.m.)
