COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M added Zach Herrera as the director of tennis operations for both the men’s and women’s programs.
Herrera comes to Aggieland after serving as an operations intern for Georgetown University’s track and field program in Washington D.C. While at Georgetown, he oversaw daily operations of the program including administration, recruiting, logistics, equipment and compliance.
“We are excited to announce that Herrera will be serving as our new director of operations,” women’s tennis head coach Mark Weaver said. “Zach has an excellent background for this position and we are all very excited to welcome him here to Aggieland.”
In 2023, Herrera returned to his alma mater as an intern for the men’s basketball program at the University of Texas, where he assisted with logistical operations of the program such as event scheduling, traveling and daily operations. Prior, he served as a strategic growth intern for the San Antonio Spurs where he provided marketing reports and weekly newsletters within the Spurs front office.
“We are super excited to have him on board to be our director of operations,” men’s tennis head coach Steve Denton said. “He comes very highly recommended from his previous position and we know he will do a great job helping both of our tennis programs.”
Herrera received his bachelor of science in sports management from Texas in December of 2023. He furthered his education at Georgetown, receiving a master’s degree in sports industry management in 2026.
