NORMAN – The No. 12 Texas A&M volleyball team gears up for its first road conference game, as it takes on Oklahoma Wednesday evening at the McCasland Field House with first serve set for 6 p.m.

The Aggies look to build on their perfect start to conference play, after sweeping their first three opponents at home, while they also carry a six-game win streak into Norman. In their most recent victory, the Maroon & White downed Mississippi State in straight sets behind an offensive masterclass from Kyndal Stowers.

The outside hitter, Stowers, broke Texas A&M’s program record for points in a three-set match, recording 26.5 in the win downing the previous best set by Shelby Sullivan of 25.0. The senior tallied 21 kills, a career-high five aces and a block to lead the Aggies to victory. Her performance also earned her the first weekly conference honor of her career, as she was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week.

Fast starts have been the key to the Maroon & White’s success, as they improved to 10-1 in games where they win the opening frame of the game. Service pressure was a key to the strong start in Sunday’s game with the team logging a season-high eight aces in the win paced by Stowers’ five.

The Aggies have a rich history with Oklahoma, as they've faced the Sooners 47 times. A&M boasts a dominant lead in the all-time series, 38-9 and are 2-0 since they joined the SEC. Five of Oklahoma's wins have come when the teams met in Norman, but the Maroon & White do hold an 11-game advantage when playing in the Sooner state, 16-5.

Texas A&M has struggled on the road this season, as they’re 2-4 outside of Reed Arena, but recently their luck flipped, claiming victories in their last two away from home, both of which were ranked opponents.
