LOXELY, Ala. – The No. 12 Texas A&M men's golf team sits tied for third after the opening 36 holes of the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Saturday at Steelwood Country Club.
The Aggies carded rounds of 11-under 277 and 8-under 280 to finish the day at 19-under 557. Texas A&M is tied with Mississippi State and trails second-place Georgia Tech by four strokes. No. 3 Auburn leads the 15-team field at 35-under 541.
Senior Aaron Pounds paced the Aggies, firing rounds of 7-under 65 and 3-under 69 to finish the day at 10-under 134. Pounds is tied for fourth individually, just two strokes off the individual lead.
Wheaton Ennis and Landon Ashcraft are tied for 23rd at 3-under 141. Ennis carded rounds of 2-under 70 and 1-under 71, while Ashcraft posted a 1-under 71 in the opening round before following with a 2-under 70.
Shiv Parmar sits at 2-under 142 and is tied for 31st after rounds of even-par 72 and 2-under 70. Kris Kuvaas rounds out the Aggie lineup at 1-under 143, tying for 38th after rounds of 1-under 71 and even-par 72.
Texas A&M will look to make a final-round push Sunday as it seeks to defend its Steelwood Collegiate Invitational title. The Aggies captured the 2025 championship at 10-under 566 in an event shortened to 36 holes because of weather.
The final round begins Sunday morning with the Aggies teeing off at 9:15 a.m. at the Steelwood Country Club.
