What To Watch For
- Texas A&M and South Carolina will meet for the 13th time in the series history. The Aggies lead the all-time series 10-2. This will be the second time the two teams have played in Columbia on Nov. 7.
- Since 2022, the two programs have traded wins, with each team winning both games at home. Texas A&M's last win in Columbia, S.C. was Nov. 7, 2020 when the Aggies defeated the Gamecocks, 48-3.
- Texas A&M is attempting to improve to 5-2 overall in Columbia, S.C.
- Last season, the Aggies rallied from a 30-3 halftime deficit to defeat South Carolina 31-30. The 27-point comeback was the largest in school history, breaking the old record of 21 points in the Aggies’ 52-48 win over Duke in 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl. Part of the comeback included a career day from Marcel Reed, who threw for a career-high 439 yards, highlighted by 316 passing yards in the second half.
- A Texas A&M win on Saturday would... Be the 40th victory of head coach Mike Elko's career ... It would be the Aggies' first road victory of the season ... It would be the first ranked victory for Texas A&M since Nov. 8, 2025 when the Aggies defeated #19 Missouri.
Quick Hits
- For the second game in a row, the Aggies will be an opponent's homecoming game. On Oct. 24, Texas A&M played Alabama on their homecoming and when the Aggies head to Columbia, S.C. they will be playing South Carolina on their homecoming.
- KJ Edwards is averaging 6.5 yards per carry this season. His yards per carry ranks 22nd nationally among all running backs with at least 50 carries this season. His 6.5 yards per carry also ranks 4th best in the SEC. He is one of six freshmen inside the top 25 ... It's also the 13th best average in Texas A&M history for running backs with at least 50 carries in a season.
- Under the direction of head coach Mike Elko, Texas A&M is 4-0 when coming off a bye week. The Aggies are averaging 31.5 points per game in those contests. Texas A&M has won five straight games following a bye week dating back to the 2023 season.
- Texas A&M has a chance to play spoiler on Saturday. South Carolina was on a roll in the month of October with two wins against ranked opponents, including three wins to end the month. Their lone loss was by one point in overtime to Kentucky.
- Marcel Reed is one passing touchdown shy of 50 in his career. Reed would be just the
fourth quarterback in program history with 50+ touchdown passes, joining Kellen Mond (71), Jerrod Johnson (67) and Johnny Manziel (63).
