Five Aggies Headed to ITA Central Sectional

FORT WORTH – The Texas A&M women’s tennis squad is sending a five-player contingent to the ITA Central Sectional Championship hosted at TCU’s Friedman Center Thursday to Sunday.

The singles play will be contested in morning action. No. 60 Lexington Reed is slotted as the top seed at the tournament. She opens Thursday with a match against No. 46 Bianca Molnar of Notre Dame at 9:30 a.m. Kori Montoya and Sydney Jara are also in Thursday’s first wave of contests. Montoya faces Massiva Boukirat of Minnesota while Jara squares off with No. 103 Alian Zack of Baylor. No. 49 Kristina Paskauskas battles Nebraska’s Conley Raidt at 11:30 a.m.

Doubles play is slated for the afternoon. The top-seeded combo of No. 34 Paskauskas/Reed battles Houston’s Petja Drame and Iva Sepa. Jara/Yoana Konstantinova face Caroline McGinley/Amelie Van Impe of SMU.

The sectional championships are the last chance for players to earn a spot in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. From the Central Sectional, six singles players and three doubles tandems earn a spot in the NCAA postseason.
