FORT WORTH – Texas A&M’s Lexington Reed and Sydney Jara advanced to the ITA Sectional Championship quarterfinals Friday at TCU’s Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
No. 60 Reed started the day off with a quick defeat of Baylor’s Na Dong, 6-3, 6-0, to earn her second singles win of the tournament. Jara battled through three sets against Nithesa Selvaraj of Rice, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, to pick up her eighth win of the season.
In doubles action, No. 34 Reed/Kristina Paskauskas fought through a thriller against Alessia Cau/Lucy King Oyebog Atang of Ohio State, 7-6 (7), 6-2.
No. 49 Paskauskas and Kori Montoya suffered losses in singles action. The ITA Sectional continues tomorrow at 10:30 AM.
