TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Sea Best Invitational
Feb 01, 2026 | Men's Golf
ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – The Texas A&M men's golf team lifts the lid on the spring tournament schedule Monday at the Sea Best Invitational hosted by the University of Jacksonville. The Aggies, who aim to claim their second consecutive tournament title, enter the Sea Best Invitational as defending champions.
Due to inclement weather, the tournament has been shortened to two rounds. Action starts at 11 a.m. each day on the par-71, 6,868-yard Atlantic Beach Country Club course.
The Aggies enter the tournament with two wins on the season. They claimed the season-opening 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational and capped off the fall with a victory at the Steelwood Collegiate.
The lineup will feature two players slotted in the top 100 of the Scoreboard Rankings powered by Clippd. Wheaton Ennis fronts the group ranked No. 88 while Aaron Pounds is ranked No. 34. They are joined by Alex Long, Jaime Montojo and Jack Usner in the starting five. Jake Maggert represents the Aggies as an individual competitor.
The Aggies have traveled to the tournament a handful of timed, but this marks just the second time with Atlantic Beach Country Club as the venue. The Maroon & White have a strong history at the Sea Best Invitational, winning in 2020 led by Walker Lee (70-68-68) and in 2025 with Phichaksn Maichon (66-67-69) out front. They were runner-up in 2013 and finished third in 2014.
The 14-team tournament field features a strong southeast flavor, including six teams from Florida. The Aggies are one of two SEC teams in the field, joined by the No. 5 Florida. Florida Gulf Coast (51) and UNC Wilmington (64) are among the other regional-caliber teams in the field.
