Feb 20, 2026 | Swimming and Diving
KNOXVILLE – Seven top eight finishes and multiple NCAA qualifying cuts highlighted the Aggies' penultimate day at the 2026 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee campus.
The Aggies closed out the night with a pair of strong efforts in the 200 free relays. The women's foursome of senior Kaitlyn Owens, sophomore Ella McQuinn and freshmen Eloise Williamson and Reagan Sherrard placed sixth with a season-best 1:28.46, which improved their NCAA provisional cut. The men's quartet of junior Ben Scholl, sophomore Ben Sytsma, junior Logan Brown and fifth-year senior Seth Reno nabbed a coveted NCAA automatic qualifying time in 1:16.16 while placing fifth. The time was the fourth-fastest in school history.
The Aggie women opened the evening session with a 48-point effort in the 200-yard breaststroke. Junior Hannah O'Leary led the way with an eighth place finish in 2:10.14, which was just off her lifetime best of 2:10.10 from the prelims. In the consolation final, freshman Lillie Sczech placed fifth (13th overall) in 2:10.49 and sophomore Ella Smoker finished seventh (15th) in 2:11.42. Smoker had a lifetime best of 2:11.38 in the prelims.
Brown threw down a lifetime best in the men's 200 breaststroke, placing fourth in a time of 1:51.55. Brown's PR moved him past Mauro Castillo and Ben Walker to No. 3 on the Aggies' all-time top 10 list in the race.
Freshman diver Emilio Trevino flirted with a spot on the platform podium but finished in fourth place with a 399.05. Sophomore Jaxon Bowshire placed second in the consolation final (10th overall) of men's platform dive with a score of 378.35. Fellow sophomore Charles Reuter just missed the consols with a 17th place finish with a 299.15 point total.
Scholl kept the lifetime bests trend going with in the men's 50 free as he dipped under 19-seconds for an 18.94 clocking while placing eighth. Scholl's lifetime best ranks No. 2 in school history behind Connor Foote's school record of 18.67 from last year's SEC meet. In the women's 50 free, Owens chipped in a 22nd place finish in 22.57.
In the team standings, the Aggie women are ninth with 424 points and the men are ninth with 391.5 points.
