BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M baseball had a nation-best tying four players selected to Baseball America's Preseason All-America teams, as announced by the publication Tuesday.
Third baseman Gavin Grahovac and outfielder Caden Sorrell were tabbed to the second team, while shortstop Chris Hacopian and starting pitcher Shane Sdao earned third-team distinctions.
Grahovac, the 2024 SEC Freshman of the Year, started all 67 games he appeared in his rookie season, slashing .298/.390/.596 with 66 RBI and a Texas A&M single-season freshman record of 23 home runs. The Orange, California, native also totaled 85 hits, 83 runs and 16 doubles en route to earning Freshman All-America honors from four publications, including Baseball America. The Aggie third baseman became the first player in NCAA history to hit a leadoff home run in the first game of the College World Series Final, marking just the second leadoff homer in any College World Series Final game.
After starting in only six games as a sophomore in 2025, Grahovac suffered a season-ending injury. In those six starts, he logged two home runs and a double while scoring seven runs and driving in six.
Sorrell sparked the Aggie lineup in just 26 starts last year after returning from injury midway through the season, boasting a slash line of .337/.430/.789 with 12 home runs and 32 RBI. The junior recorded 11 multi-RBI games while 18 of his 32 hits went for extra bases, earning him Texas A&M's Marion Pugh Most Valuable Player.
Across his two-year career in the Maroon & White, Sorrell has registered a .296 batting average and a .635 slugging percentage with 23 home runs, 13 doubles, six triples and 75 RBI.
Hacopian arrives in Aggieland following two highly productive offensive campaigns at Maryland. In 2025, Hacopian started all 52 games he appeared in, leading the Terrapins' hitters in batting average (.375), on-base percentage (.502), slugging percentage (.656) and hits (72). The Potomac, Maryland, native plated 61 runs while scoring 51 of his own and flashed a patient approach at the plate by drawing 40 walks to just 19 strikeouts.
Throughout his time at Maryland, Hacopian owned a career slash line of .347/.465/.614 with 29 home runs, 103 RBI, and 104 runs scored. The right-handed slugger's efforts landed him on the All-Big Ten team in back-to-back seasons.
Sdao returns to the Texas A&M pitching rotation after missing the entirety of the 2025 campaign due to injury. The lefty posted a stellar 2024 campaign, registering a 5-1 record in 20 appearances (five starts) with a 2.96 ERA. He notched 55 strikeouts while only allowing nine walks in 48.2 innings. Sdao was the winning pitcher in the Aggies' 9-4 Bryan-College Station Regional clincher over Louisiana in 2024, allowing one earned run in 5.1 innings of work with six strikeouts.
In two full seasons at Texas A&M, Sdao has compiled a 9-2 record over 42 total appearances. The Montgomery, Texas, native boasts an ERA of 3.82 with 101 strikeouts to 24 walks in 92.0 innings pitched.
