Sophomore Sydney Lessentine (6-1) tossed a complete game, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four with no walks. Lessentine faced 24 batters and held the Ragin' Cajuns to a .130 batting average.
The Maroon & White struck first in the bottom of the second. Paislie Allen doubled to right field before Mathis lined an RBI single up the middle to get the Aggies on the board. Frankie Vrazel was hit by a pitch and Edwards followed with a single through the right side to extend the lead to 2-0.
In the bottom of the third, Ariel Kowalewski singled and Allen walked before Mathis blasted a 238-foot three-run homer to push the advantage to 5-0. The long ball marked her third of the season and first in the friendly confines of Davis Diamond.
Louisiana (14-8) threated in the sixth as the leadoff hitter launched a deep fly ball to left field, but Allen met it at the top of the fence to rob the Ragin' Cajuns of a solo jack. The next batter singled and later scored on a double for Louisiana's lone run.
Lessentine retired Louisiana in order on just eight pitches in the seventh to seal her third complete game of the season.
