Women’s Golf Finishes Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate in Sixth
Mar 24, 2026 | Women's Golf
FORT WORTH – The No. 3 Texas A&M women's golf team finished the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate in sixth place Tuesday at the Colonial Country Club.
"Its still March but we have to learn from this because we do not want this to happen in April or May," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "We did some good stuff but we need to clean up a lot of mistakes in order for this team to achieve what they are capable of. It is a privilege that we still have the time to work on things and we will do just that. Next time out we will be at Traditions at the Mo, so we are very excited to get to play at home in April."
No. 1 Stanford (+8) won the tournament followed by No. 7 Oregon (+11), No. 11 Duke (+19), No. 9 Wake Forest (+19) and No. 5 Texas (+20). Texas A&M (+24) defeated the rest of the field, including No. 16 Mississippi State (+35) and No. 6 Auburn (+36).
The Aggies were led by Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio who shot an even-par 70 in the final round to secure a tied-for-ninth finish. The junior went 3-over 213 for the tournament and recorded her fifth top 10 performance of the year.
Vanessa Borovilos took home a share of 17th with a 5-over 215. The trio of Sky Sudberry, Brynn Kort and Natalie Yen all tied for 32nd at 10-over 220. Louise Reau finished with a piece of 27th, while competing as an individual.
Texas A&M returns to the course at the 22nd installment of the "Mo" Morial Invitational April 6-8 at its home course of Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. Admission is free and the team will host a viewing party on Wednesday, April 8, near No. 18 green as teams finish.
