No. 8 Aggies Host Mississippi State and Alabama

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 8 Texas A&M women's tennis team returns to the Mitchell Tennis Center this weekend for a pair of matchups, hosting Mississippi State Thursday at 5 p.m. and Alabama Saturday at noon.
The Aggies enter the weekend with an 11-2 overall record and a 3-0 mark in SEC play. The Maroon & White have been dominant at home, holding a 5-0 record in Aggieland this season while riding a 76-match home winning streak. Texas A&M is coming off a strong road weekend with victories over Vanderbilt and Missouri.
Individually, No. 5 Lucciana Perez enters the weekend with a 12-0 record in singles play and a 12-match winning streak that includes several victories over nationally ranked opponents. Freshmen Ilinca Amariei has made a quick impact on the team, earning her very first ITA ranking of her career at No. 60 after securing a ranked win over No. 15 Valeria Ray of Vanderbilt last weekend.
Thursday marks the 16th all-time meeting between Texas A&M and Mississippi State, with the Aggies holding a 14-1 advantage in the series. The Maroon & White claimed the most recent meeting in 2025 with a 4-0 sweep. Mississippi State enters the contest with a 12-2 overall record and a 1-2 SEC mark, riding a three-match win streak after most recently sweeping Memphis. The Bulldogs feature two ranked doubles teams including No. 18 Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz/Gianna Oboniye and No. 71 Kempenaers-Pocz/Chiara Di Genova.
Saturday's contest against Alabama marks the 18th all-time meeting between, with A&M leading the series 11-6. The Aggies also won the last meeting in 2025, sweeping the Crimson Tide 4-0 in Tuscaloosa. Alabama enters the weekend with a 10-1 overall record and a 2-1 mark in SEC play. The Crimson Tide most recently fell to Tennessee, 4-0, and feature No. 62 Kristina Paskauskas in ITA singles rankings.
