Aggies Announce Annual Team Awards

BRYAN – The Texas A&M men's golf team announced its 2025-26 annual team award as part of the Aggie Golf Day dinner at Traditions Club.
Aaron Pounds was named the team's Most Valuable Player. He also landed the coveted Bob Ellis Leadership Award. Currently Texas A&M's top-ranked player, he climbed as high as No. 20 in February and is currently slotted in at No. 50. He owns a 69.1 adjusted scoring average and has logged a 711-181-44 W-L-T. Pounds tallied wins at the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational and the Sea Beat Invitational. He also has a pair of fourth-place finishes.
Alex Long garnered recognition as the Aggies' Most Improved. This season, Long has traveled to seven tournaments, posting a 72.3 adjusted scoring average and a 301-232-34 W-L-T. This season, Long has climbed as high as No. 561, after spending much of his rookie season unranked. He owns top 20 finishes at the Marquette Intercollegiate and the Louisiana Classics.
Kris Kuvaas was named the Buck Prewitt Newcomer of the Year. In his first year since transferring from Pepperdine, he has played in eight tournaments, carding a 70.9 adjusted scoring average with a 404-208-33 W-L-T. He opened the season with a fifth-place effort at the Minnesota Golf Classic and he finished the regular-season strong with a 15th-place effort at the Louisiana Classics and a 25th place showing at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate.
Steady high-quality play earned Wheaton Ennis the Aggie Stalwart Award. He is currently ranked No. 59 with a 724-170-42 W-L-T. The Eagle, Idaho, native has traveled to 11 tournaments, posting a 69.2 adjusted scoring average. He owns a team-high five top 10 finishes, including third-place efforts at the SeaBest Invitational and the Valspar Collegiate Invitational. He added back-to-back sixth-place results at the Marquette Intercollegiate and Steelwood Collegiate.
Jack Usner closed out the honors, earning the BK Watson Academic Award. The sophomore has been nearly flawless in the classroom as a business administration major. On the course, he owns a 73.1 adjusted scoring average, playing in seven tournaments.
The Aggies are prepping for the SEC Championship slated for April 22-26 in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The Maroon & White boast three tournament wins this season, including hoisting trophies at the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational, Steelwood Collegiate and Louisiana Classics.
