
Freshcorn Selected to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List

DALLAS – Texas A&M relief pitcher Clayton Freshcorn was named to the Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List, as announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday. The award recognizes the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball.
In 17 relief appearances this season, Freshcorn owns a 2-1 record with seven saves and a 2.00 ERA. His seven saves are tied for the most in the SEC and rank 22nd nationally. The right-hander owns a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 8.25, punching out 33 batters in 27.0 innings of work.
Three of Freshcorn's seven saves were outings of 3.0 innings pitched. The Waller, Texas, native has recorded scoreless outings in 13 of his 17 appearances.
Freshcorn and the Aggies continue SEC play on the road in Gainesville for a three-game series against No. 21 Florida. Friday's opener is slated for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
