COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 10 Texas A&M softball team dropped its series at No. 24 South Carolina, falling 2-1 in Sunday's rubber match at Carolina Softball Stadium.
Texas A&M (35-14, 15-6 SEC) left 10 runners on base and went 1-for-15 (.067) with runners on base and 1-for-7 (.143) with runners in scoring position, despite drawing seven free passes, including four hit-by-pitches and three walks.

The Aggies struck first in the second inning. Edwards opened the frame with a single and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. A potential 2-0 lead was halted when a hit-by-pitch call was overturned on review, and the inning ended with a flyout.
South Carolina loaded the bases in the third, but Peters induced a groundout to escape the jam. The Gamecocks tied the game with a solo home run in the fifth.
South Carolina took the lead in the seventh, capitalizing on consecutive walks before a sacrifice bunt resulted in a throwing error that brought home the deciding run.
