
O’Mara Named NCEA Jumping Seat Coach of the Year

WACO –Texas A&M equestrian Associate Head Coach Abby O'Mara has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Dual Discipline Jumping Seat Coach of the Year, as announced by the organization Monday.
What Abby O'Mara is building at Texas A&M goes beyond a single season, head coach Tana McKay said. She's shaping athletes, raising the standard, and leaving a lasting mark on the in the NCEA. Abby is a true example of what a coach should be. She gives her all to this team and her student-athletes, and we are very proud of her. She is very deserving of this recognition!
Under O'Mara's leadership, the Aggies posted an 8-5-2 record in Flat and a 6-8-1 mark in Fences. She also guided two Jumping Seat riders to All-America and All-SEC honors with Grace Shipman earning recognition in Fences and Kate Egan in Flat. The duo was named to the NCEA All-Championship Team for their performances at national championships after each posting scoring rides in all three of Texas A&M's competitions. Newcomer Logan Thomas was also recognized by the league, earning SEC All-Freshman Team accolades in Fences and Flat.
The Maroon & White collected 10 MOP honors in Jumping Seat during the 2025-26 season under O'Mara's directions, helping lead Texas A&M to its first SEC Championship title and finish as the national runners up at the NCEA National Championship.
