Five Aggies Join NFL Teams as Undrafted Free Agents

COLLEGE STATION – Five former Texas A&M football student-athletes have agreed to terms with four different NFL organizations to join as undrafted free agents.
Defensive back Tyreek Chappell and linebacker Scooby Williams signed with the Minnesota Vikings, running back Le'Veon Moss agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins, running back EJ Smith inked a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs and linebacker Taurean York signed with the Denver Broncos.
Chappell, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, finished his five-year career at Texas A&M with 143 tackles, including 10.0 for loss of yardage, while posting two interceptions and breaking up 30 passes in 48 games. He started 44 games, including all 13 contests as a fifth-year senior in 2025. He is one of seven players in school history to reach the 30 passes broken up (PBU) milestone. As a senior, Chappell compiled 34 tackles, including 3.0 for loss of yardage, with four PBUs. He posted his single game career highs of eight tackles vs. Florida and Ole Miss in 2021 and four PBUs against Mississippi State in 2021.
Willliams, from Birmingham, Alabama, posted 62 tackles, including 12.0 for loss of yardage, in two seasons in Aggieland after transferring from the University of Florida. He also chipped in two pickoffs, six PBUs, one forced fumble and one recovered fumble. In seven games as a senior in 2025, Williams compiled 19 total tackles with 4.5 for loss of yardage and turned in a crucial interception in the Aggies' road win over Notre Dame. In three seasons with the Gators, Williams recorded 70 tackles, including 35 solo takedowns in 25 games. His career high for tackles in a game was eight vs. Tennessee and Arkansas in 2023.
Moss, from Walker, Louisiana, rushed for 1,767 yards and 22 touchdowns on 321 carries (5.5 average) in 32 games over four seasons at Texas A&M. He earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2024 when he ranked among the league's top rushers with 765 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 121 carries (6.3 average) before suffering a season-ending injury in the ninth game of the season. For his career, Moss surpassed the 100-yard mark in rushing five times, including a career-high 139 vs. Auburn in 2025. He scored a career-high three rushing touchdowns twice, including a memorable three-score performance in the second quarter in the Aggies' road win over Notre Dame.
Smith, from Dallas, Texas, was an effective rusher, receiver and special teams contributor in his two seasons with the Aggies. He rushed for 412 yards and four touchdowns on 98 carries and caught 12 passes for 84 yards in 21 games in College Station. In six collegiate seasons at Stanford and Texas A&M, Smith rushed for 969 yards and nine touchdowns on 207 carries and had 71 catches for 470 yards. His single game career highs include 118 rushing yards against Colgate in 2022 and seven catches for 116 receiving yards against Notre Dame in 2023.
York, from Temple, Texas, started all 39 games of his three-year collegiate career and was the Aggies' top tackler as a sophomore (82) and junior (72). For his career, the two-time team captain posted 228 total tackles, including 25.0 for loss of yardage. He also compiled 6.5 sacks, made one interception and broke up eight passes. York turned in seven career 10-plus tackles performances, including a career high of 12 against Mississippi State in 2024. A third-team All-SEC selection in 2025, York led the team in tackles six times: UTSA (10), Notre Dame (8), Auburn (7), Mississippi State (10), South Carolina (8) and Texas (11).
