May 27, 2026 | Softball
LOUISVILLE – Texas A&M's Mya Perez earned NFCA All-America First Team honors, the organization announced Wednesday, adding another national accolade to her standout junior campaign.
Perez appeared in 57 games this season and reached base in 55 of them, compiling an NCAA-best 55-game on-base streak. She closed the year ranked fourth nationally in on-base percentage (.602) and 25th in slugging percentage (.893). Perez led the SEC in on-base percentage and ranked fifth in the league in slugging percentage. Of her 58 hits, 29 went for extra bases, including a career-high 19 home runs and 10 doubles.
The junior also drew 54 walks, the second-most in a single season in program history. Her 19 home runs and .414 batting average both rank seventh in the Texas A&M record book. During SEC action, Perez set a school record with 31 walks and reached via walk in 16 of 24 conference games. She led the SEC in both on-base percentage (.611) and walks (31), while finishing second in hit-by-pitches (5) and sixth in OPS (1.296).
Perez becomes the first Aggie to earn NFCA All-America honors in consecutive seasons since Haley Lee accomplished the feat in 2021 and 2022. Perez also collected NFCA All-Central Region First Team and All-SEC First Team accolades this season and was named a Top 25 finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. In addition, she garnered second team All-America honors from D1 Softball and Softball America.
