Started off his college career with a bang, placing first in five of his first 11 events and placing out of the top five only once during that span… took the top spot in the 500 free five times, the fastest of which came at the Speedo Championship Series (4:28.10); also posted a second-place finish in the 200 IM and a first-place victory in the 400 free at the event… set two personal bests at the SEC Championships that were good enough for NCAA ‘B’ cuts in the 200 Breast (1:59.79) and 400 IM (3:49.22)
2014 graduate of IES Ortega y Gassest High School in Madrid, Spain… Earned a secondary school academic award in 2012 and the Community (state) of Madrid, honorable mention in 2013 … a team member of the National European Junior Swimming Championships for 2013 and 2014 ... and a National team member of the Youth Olympic Games-Nanjing in 2014 … Carazo was a member of The CN Gredos San Diego club team under head coach David Ramiro Marcos where he earned five national swimming awards (2008-2012) … and one international swimming award (2013).

Gonzalo Carazo Babero is the son of Yolanda Fernandez and Javier Garcia … born on October 23, 1996 in Madrid, Spain … he intends to major in Aerospace Engineering … Carazo chose Texas A&M because “of the two aspects that any student-athlete is normally looking for, academic and athletic quality of the university. Texas A&M meets both things. It has a well-known Engineering program and a consolidated swimming and diving team with great coaches and facilities and a fantastic team environment with the support and commitment of the whole university, “The 12th Man,” Gig’em Aggies!!!”
