PREVIOUS ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE
Was a decorated four-year starting outside hitter for coach Donald Zapalac at Schulenburg High School…Helped lead the Lady Horns to one state championship title, two state runner-up finishes and four consecutive district titles, having suffered only one district loss in four years…Named to the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A all-state team every year, earning first-team honors as a sophomore and junior…Was a two-time member of the Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state team and also earned TGCA all-state academic first team honors as a senior…Named to the 2014 UIL Class 2A state all-tournament team after posting a team-high 19 kills in Schulenburg’s state championship victory…A four-time all-district selection, earned overall MVP honors as a senior and offensive MVP laurels as a junior…Also competed in tennis and track…Was the district champion in the high jump as a junior…As a freshman, was voted the Lady Horns’ track MVP after advancing to regionals in the 100-meter dash, the long jump and the triple jump…Competed for Texstar Volleyball Club for six years…Coached by Milton Koeller, her 17U team was the 2014 AAU National Champion, Club Division…Most memorable moment of athletic career is winning the state championship her junior year after two straight years of runner-up finishes.

Bay Guentert is the daughter of Terry and Lisa Guentert…Has an older sister, Tanner, and a younger brother, Ty…Both her mother and sister attended Texas A&M…Is a distant relative of Raychelle (Michalke) Ellsworth, the associate director of sports performance for volleyball and softball at Texas A&M and a four-year Aggie letterwinner in volleyball (1989-92)…Bay was a cheerleader throughout her junior high school and high school years and did gymnastics/tumbling for seven years…Began playing volleyball when she was 14 years old…Made official volleyball recruiting visits to Houston Baptist and Texas A&M…Although recruited by other Division I schools, chose to attend Texas A&M because, “ever since I was a little girl my dream was to play at Texas A&M. I knew that I loved volleyball, but I also knew that I wasn’t going to settle for less and you can’t get any better than Texas A&M. The morals and values and standards Texas A&M sets and stands for is everything I am and want to be surrounded by. There was no questioning that Texas A&M was the place to be as a student athlete.”…While growing up, looked up to former Aggie volleyball player Angela Lowak…Was a regular at Aggie Volleyball camps from 2013 to 2015…Is majoring in business administration and pursuing a certificate in not-for-profit business…Upon receiving her degree, she plans to open her own clothing boutique and pair with non-profit organizations to provide necessities to third world countries…Born January 11, 1998, in Columbus, Texas.
