High Jump (indoors): 6-11 ¾ (2.13), equal No. 9 on Aggie all-time list
2017: Placed 15th at NCAA Championships, clearing 6-9¾ (2.08) in difficult conditions… Fourth at SEC Championships with a 7-½ (2.15) clearance, also cleared that height at the NCAA West Preliminary Round… Lifetime best of 7-1¾ (2.18) gave him a win at the Texas Relays… Won the Jim Bush Invitational at UCLA with a 7-1 (2.16)… Had five meets at 7-feet or better outdoors… Ninth at the SEC Indoor Championships… Won the Reveille Invitational with an indoor-best 6-11¾ (2.13) and also took top spot at Charlie Thomas Invitational.
2016: Competed six times outdoors, with a best of 6-10¾ (2.10) to take third at the UTSA Invitational… Eighth at the SEC Indoor Championships, clearing 6-7½ (2.02)… Indoor best of 6-11½ (2.12) earned him runner-up status at the Charlie Thomas Invitational.
2015: Outdoor best of 6-8¾ (2.05) came at Baylor's Michael Johnson Classic… Best placing was second at Stanford Invitational… Placed third at the Reveille Invitational with an indoor best of 6-8¼ (2.04).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Friendswood, Texas, High School in 2014… Coached by Daron Scott… Also competed in basketball and baseball … Eighth at the 2014 Texas 4A State Meet… Cleared a PR 7-0 to win the Region III-4A title.
PERSONAL: Garrett Matthew Cragin was born in Friendswood, Texas, on November 7, 1995… Son of Michael & Joyce Cragin… Siblings are Connor and Taylor… Both parents are A&M graduates… Brother, Taylor, played baseball at TCU… Cousin, Cole, swam for Texas… Grandfather, Bob Ellis, was Texas A&M's golf coach for 27 years… Started competing in track and field when he was 18… Majoring in Sport Management.
Career goal: Work in the Sports World/Finance
I chose Track & Field over other sports because: Best opportunity to compete at a high level
