2011 (JUNIOR)
Shined after being thrust into the starter's role at
defensive end after Jonathan Mathis went down with an injury … earned
honorable mention All-Big 12 honors after making 45 tackles and leading
the Aggie defensive line with 8 tackles for loss … posted 1.5 QB sacks, batted
down a pass and forced a fumble … saw action in all 13 games, and
started the final nine games of the season … had five or more tackles in five
of nine games he started, including a season-high seven against Baylor and
Missouri … had a team-high three tackles for loss against Iowa State.
2010 (SOPHOMORE)
Contributed 20 tackles, including 2.5 for loss
of seven yards, while seeing action in all 13 games … made a crucial play in
the Aggies' win over Texas when he tipped a pass at the line of scrimmage
that was picked off by Butkus Award winner Von Miller … had a season-high
six tackles against Louisiana Tech … saw extended action against Texas after
starter Tony Jerod-Eddie went out with an injury and responded with five
tackles … selected to second-team Academic All-Big 12 team.
2009 (FRESHMAN)
Played significantly in all 13 games as a true
freshman and was one of first defensive linemen off the bench ... one of
seven true freshmen to appear in all 13 games ... set a season best with four
stops and a sack in win over Baylor (11/21) ... lone tackle against Arkansas
(10/3) was first of his career for a loss ... totaled three tackles, including a
critical third-down stop, against New Mexico (9/5).
HIGH SCHOOL
Coached by David Wetzel at Reagan High School in
San Antonio ... named San Antonio Area Defensive Player of the Year by
the San Antonio Express-News … as a senior recorded 70 tackles, nine sacks
and 39 QB hurries … led San Antonio Reagan to an 11-3 record and the state
quarterfinals.
